Ramban: In a horrifying incident, a truck carrying goods was struck by a massive slide of stone boulders at Slard Sherbibi in Banihal, leaving four kashmir individuals dead on the spot.
The deceased were identified as M.Afzal Garoo (driver), 42, son of Aziz Garoo and a resident of south Kashmir’s Redwani. M. Altaf Garoo, 36, Som of Aziz Garoo, brother of driver. Irfan Ahmed, 33, Son of Ab Hamid Bhat and a resident of Traal Anatnag and Showkat Ahmed,29, Son of Ab Hamid and a resident of Trail Srigufara Anantnag, 29.
The local police have started a rescue operation to address the situation, while the deceased bodies have been shifted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Banihal for further procedures.
Official said a truck (registration number JK03J 0312) heading towards Kashmir was hit by a big slide of rocks near Sliad Sherbibi, pushing it into a gorge leaving 4 dead.
However, restoration work is going on at NHW MS 178-179.
