Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday said three persons involved in grenade attack on CRPF camp in South Kashmir’s Shopian district have been arrested.
“Based on reliable sources, Police picked one suspect identified as Fazil-bin-Rashid, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Melhura and during questioning, he disclosed that he was working with one active militant namely Basit Ahmed of LeT (TRF) who is a resident of Frisal area in Kulgam,” police said in a statement.
On his instructions, he threw a grenade on 19th of March 2022 at Babapora camp (D-Coy of CRPF 178 Bn), in which one CRPF Jawan namely Amit Kumar got injured, He also confessed that the task was given to him for joining militancy ranks,” the statement said.

“During further questioning, he disclosed the name of two other persons identified as Qaiser Zahoor Khan, son of Zahoor Ahmed Khan, a resident of Nowpora Safakadal in Srinagar and Qaiser Zahoor Khan,” reads the statement.
“Three Chinese pistols, 06 magazines, 04 grenades & 30 rounds have been recovered, " the statement added.
