Srinagar Continues To Report Highest Covid Cases In J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 739 fresh covid-19 cases, 220 from Jammu division and 425 from Kashmir Valley with no death during the last 24 hours, officials said on Wednesday.

Covid has been rising in J&K with Srinagar reporting highest number of cases since the surge began in July, at a time when huge tourist flow and Amarnath Pilgrims continue to visit the valleyย from different parts of the country.ย 

They said that 196 cases were reported from Jammu region and 543 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 466643. Among the cases, 171951 are from Jammu division and 294692 from Kashmir Valley.

As of now, there are 4940 active casesโ€” 1639 in Jammu and 3301 in Kashmir.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Srinagar logged 235, Jammu 129 cases, Udhampur 11, Rajouri 13, Doda 6, Kathua 6, Samba 9, Kishtwar 12, Poonch 4, Ramban 6, Reasi 0, Baramulla 165, Budgam 57, Pulwama 3, Kupwara 28, Anantnag 21, Bandipora 16, Ganderbal 5, Kulgam 11 and Shopian 2.

They also informed that 8644 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
