RAJOURI, August 16: At least six people were injured, four of them critically, after a vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a ditch in the Kandi Mohra area of Rajouri district on Sunday, officials said.
The injured were initially shifted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Kandi, where they received first aid. Four of those in critical condition were later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for specialised treatment.
An official said the accident occurred when the vehicle went out of control, skidded off the road and fell into a ditch in the Kandi Mohra area.
The injured were identified as Mohd Azam, 60, son of Mir Baz; Ibrar Ahmed, 35, son of Mohd Azam; Imtiaz Ahmed, 18, son of Mohd Azam; Shamim Akhter, 22, wife of Ibrar Ahmed; Mohd Shakeel, 22, son of Munshi Khan; and Khadam Hussain. All are residents of Rehan in Kotranka tehsil of Rajouri district.
Police have taken up an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
