Srinagar: A man was killed and another injured on Thursday after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident at Sinthan-Top, a mountainous highway which connects south Kashmir’s Anantnag district with Chenab valley’s Kishtwar.
The deceased has been identified as Latief Ahmed Malik, son of Abdul Rashid Malik, and a resident of Verinag. However, his age wasn’t immediately known.
An official said that a car on the way towards Anantnag, skidded off the road at Sinthan-Top in Chatroo area, resulting in on spot death of a person and injuries to another.
“Soon after the accident, a rescue operation was launched at the site by the army and locals”, the official said.
