Srinagar: A civilian and an Army man were injured in an encounter (military operation) at Redwani area of Kulgam district on Friday.
An official said that during the exchange of fire, one civilian and an Army man were injured, who were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
He further added that after initial exchange of fire, no fresh contact was established with militants, however, the searches are going on in the area.

Earlier, a joint of team of Army, police and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
