Sonamarg: A tourist woman from Pune was killed, and a local pedestrian was injured after being hit by a vehicle in Central Kashmir’s Sonamarg on Wednesday, according to officials.
The deceased woman has been identified as Sushila (67), the wife of Late Babu Rao, a resident of Pune, Maharashtra, while the injured has been identified as Mehraj Ahmad Ganie, the son of Mashoq Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Haril area in north Kashmir’s Handwara.
An official said that a vehicle (Tata Mobile) bearing registration number JKO1T-0637 struck two persons, including a tourist woman, in the Sonamarg area, leaving them critically wounded.
Both injured individuals were taken to the hospital, where the tourist woman was declared brought dead by the doctors, he said.
The injured, who is in critical condition, was immediately referred to SKIMS, Soura, for advanced treatment, he added.
