Pulwama: A woman tragically lost her life after giving birth to a baby girl, leading her family members to accuse medical negligence at the district hospital in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Identified as Anisa Jan, wife of Feroz Ahmad Mir from Rakh village, the incident has raised concerns over patient care at the healthcare facility.

According to a relative, Anisa was in stable condition and underwent surgery at district hospital Pulwama at around 9 pm on the evening of July 22.

The relative further alleged that despite informing the doctors about her severe pain, no adequate attention was given to her.

Shockingly, at 3 am, they were informed of the need to shift her to LD Hospital in Srinagar, where the doctors revealed she was almost dead.

A senior doctor at LD said that the patient had developed some complications at district hospital Pulwama and was referred in shock to LD, where she was received at around 4:30 am.

"We informed her family members that she is almost dead and as per protocol she was taken to theatre for resuscitation but she collapsed,” he said.

Meanwhile, medical superintendent DH Pulwama Dr A G Dar told KNO that they will investigate the matter and find out the cause of referral and death as well.
