Minutes after police claimed ‘neutralising" three unidentified militants in Rambagh "encounter", protests and clashes erupted in the area on Wednesday evening.
The angry locals were seen countering the official version by questioning the turn of events at the blood-splattered site tucked barely three kilometres from Hyderpora.
“Whenever an encounter begins, we (mothers) keep looking if our sons are being killed. What can we do; we are helpless people as anything happens here,” a protesting woman said.

“Have we raised our children to get killed in such encounters, how long do we (Kashmirs) have to face this,” she added.
Meanwhile, pro-freedom slogans were raised by few people protesting at the encounter site.
Several women were seen crying and shouting while looking at the red blood splashed on roads.
Earlier, Police said three unidentified militants were killed in Rambagh area of Srinagar.
