Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCC&I) has condemned the โderogatoryโ remarks against the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and urged people to maintain communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, the spokesperson of KCC&I said that members of the largest trade body condemned the derogatory comments against Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) and appealed the government to take strict action against fringe elements.
โThe derogatory comments of fringe elements have brought shame to the country and threatened peace,โ the statement said.
โWe appealed for strict action against miscreants aimed at polarising communities and vitiating brotherhood,โ the statement reads.
Appropriate action should be taken against those who take the law into their hands, the spokesperson said over the Bhaderwah clashes.
โThe trade body also appealed to elders and the heads of the two communities to sit together to maintain the traditional harmony.โ
โThe members of KCC&I also urged people to not share any social media posts which may instigate any community.โ
