Srinagar: A 24-year-old pregnant woman was found dead at her residence in the Mukhdamyari area of Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Ulfat Bano, 24, wife of Mohammad Ashraf Dar and a resident of Mukhdamyari village in Hajin.
Locals of the area said she was found unconscious at her home when she was shipped to Hajin hospital by her husband doctors declared her dead along with her two-month-old baby in the womb.
A concerned doctor confirmed the death of the duo.
“Her body has been shifted to Sumbal hospital for further medico-legal formalities,” he said.
Also, SP Bandipora said that the inquest proceedings were initiated and currently, the post-mortem is underway at Sumbal hospital.
The cause of death will be ascertained after the post-mortem, he said.
