Poonch: Protests in the Balfaiz area of Pir Panchal’s Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir as three civilians were declared dead at the hospital late Friday after being moved from military custody.
The victims, identified as Safeer Hussain (37), Mohammed Showkat (26), and Shabir Ahmed (32), among eight people were taken into custody for questioning following a militant ambush attack that killed five military personnel in the Bafliaz area of Poonch, according to media reports.
However, official statements are yet to be issued.
Forces have intensified search operations in the area following the death of the five army personnel.
