Anantnag: Four drug peddlers were arrested along with contraband substance in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday, police said.
“On a specific information Police party from Police Station Bijbehara laid down a naka (Check post) at Gadiseer area of Bijbehara and intercepted a vehicle and during the search, 14 kilograms of Charas (Hash/Cannabis) powder and seven Grams of Brown sugar was recovered,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
Four persons boarding the vehicle namely Afrooz Ahmad Malik, Shahid Rashid Wagay, both residents of Jablipora and Mohammad Yousuf Shah, Bashir Ahmad Dar, residents of Veeri were arrested, he said.
Accordingly, he said, a case under relevant sections of the law stands registered in Police Station Bijbehara.
