Anantnag: Jammu and Kashmir Police have rescued over 100 families from South Kashmir’s Zadoora, Bumthan and Peerfurrah villages on Saturday due to heavy rains that caused flash floods.
The families were taken to safer places, as per the Police statement.
In a statement, Police said that Mirbazar post received distress calls for assistance from the people of Zadoora, Bumthan and Peerfurrah who were residing on the banks of Vaishow/Sandran Nallahs and needed to be rescued as flash floods had affected the area.

Accordingly, a police team led by IC PP Mirbazar along with civil administration, UTDRF, under the close supervision of SSP Kulgam were constituted to rescue the families, it said.
“With strenuous efforts of the joint teams, all the family members were evacuated and have been shifted to the safer places.”
