Srinagar: Police on Tuesday directed shopkeepers and tailors not to sell or stitch uniforms of Police or camouflage uniforms to any civilian except those carrying valid identity cards.
“In view of reported misuse, all Cloth/Garment sellers, Tailors etc. are requested not to sell Police/CAPF/army type uniform & camouflage pattern wear to any civilian,” police said.
“Check valid identity cards before proving uniforms and maintain records of all such sales even if they are made for police/CAPF/army,” police added.
A senior police officer said that although the order has been passed before about the Ban on selling Police and security force uniform to civilians, however, it will be strictly implemented this time.
Earlier, militants in Kashmir used to wear army uniforms since then wearing army colours or uniform pattern clothing was banned in the region.
