Bandipora: Police have arrested five OGWs (Over Ground Workers) In north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday.
They have been identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat, resident of Ashtango, Sajad Ahmad Mir, Shariq Ahmad Mir, both from Arin and Irfan Ahmad Jan of Qazipora.
“They were providing Sims and other logistic support to militants and two Chinese Grenades were recovered from them, the police spokesperson said.
Moreover, During naka (Check post) at Rakh Hajin, forces arrested another OGW identified as Irfan Aziz Bhat, resident of Hajin and recovered one chinese grenade from his possession, Police said in a statement.
"The OGW (militant associate) was also in touch with Pak based militant Umer Lala," the statement reads.
"He along with FT (Foreign Terrorist) were planning to create militant attacks in Hajin area,” it reads.
"In both the cases, Cognizance has been taken in Police station Bandipora and Hajin under relevant Section of Law and further investigation taken up," the statement concluded.
