Baramulla: Police have arrested two persons and seized two vehicles over illegal mining and excavation of minerals.
Officers in Police Station Pattan alongwith Incharge PP Mirgund under the supervision of SDPO Pattan arrested two persons and seized two vehicles (Tractors) for illegal mining and excavation of minerals at Jheel Bridge Shinghpora Pattan area of district Baramulla, police said In a statement.
The accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been initiated.
Police requests the people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules, the statement reads.
Persons found indulged in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
