Srinagar: Police on Wednesday arrested two OGWs (Over Ground Workers) of TRF an offshoot of LeT in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement, police said that Baramulla Police received specific information and Baramulla Police, Army 46 RR, 2nd Bn SSB and 53 Bn CRPF established Nakas within the jurisdiction of Police Station Sheeri.
At Zehanpora-Khadniyar link road while checking a Scooty bearing, two persons tried to flee away from naka.
However, both persons were detained and 40 live rounds of AK 47 were recovered from their possession, police added.
The accused were identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Bardal, son of Siraj-ud-din Bardal and Muneer Ahmad son of Siraj-ud-din, both residents of Khachadari Zehanpora.
Police said they confessed working for TRF militant group.
A Case under sections of Indian Arms Act and UAPA was registered in Sheeri Police station.
