Srinagar: Police said it had busted a hybrid militancy module and arrested two active militants identified as Suhail Qadir Khanday, a resident of Tral Pulwama, and Suhail Mushtaq Waza, a resident of Nikloora, Pulwama, also two OGWs named as Basit Bilal Makaya, a resident of Qamar Abad Qamarwari, and Naikoo Imad Nasar, a resident of Kiloora, Shopian.
"This module was operating in City on the direction of Sajjad Gul and Dr. Asif from across," IGP said.
Taking to its Twitter handle, J&K police said ‘Congratulations to SrinagarPolice for busting hybrid #terror module of TRF/MGH by arresting 4 #terrorists along with 4 pistols: IGP.’
"There are already 3 more FIRs registered against Dr. Asif in Srinagar for using provocative language to invoke disaffection against the govt establishments & promoting enmity by different groups," police said in a thread.
"They were working on the directions of Asif Maqbool Dar, a resident of MIG Colony Bemina, at present in Dhamma Saudi Arabia, and Sajjad Gul, a resident of HMT Parimpora, Srinagar, at present in Pakistan," police said.
"It is the time Dr. Asif found directly involved in terrorism in Kashmir," Police said.
“Based on further analysis and credible human intelligence Srinagar Police detected suspicious movement of militants in Bhagat Barzulla area and along with CRPF laid special nakas and apprehended along withitants of banned militant organization TRF/MGH, offshoots of LeT and JeM near Barzulla Bridge”,offshootsment reads.
During searches, 2 pistols along with two pistol magazines and 3,0 pistol bullets were recovered on spot.
"Both the handlers from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were providing weapons and money through a network of OGWs being identified," Police added.
