Gaza, 20 February 2025— A Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli snipers in Gaza City despite a ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement, according to media reports.
The man was killed when he was travelling to his home in the eastern part of Al Shujaiah neighbourhood.
The ceasefire agreement took effect in Gaza last month, halting Israel’s genocidal war that has killed at least 48,300 people, mostly women and children, and left the enclave in ruins. Besides the government Media Office has updated its death toll to at least 61,709 people, saying thousands missing under the rubble are now presumed dead.
Since then, at least 93 Palestinians have been killed and 822 others injured in Israeli attacks.
