Srinagar: A Pakistani Commander and a ‘hybrid’militant were killed in Devsar area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday afternoon, police said.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said the Pakistani Militant identified as Haider was active more than two Years in north Kashmir’s Bandipora and had recently shifted his base to South Kashmir.
The other local slain has been identified as Shabaz Shah of Kulgam, who was ‘hybird militant and active since two weeks, the top cop breifed.
Earlier a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the area, As per News Agency GNS.
"As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering off a gunfight."
‘Hybrid’ militants is a newly coined term in the history of Kashmir militancy, which according to poilce are undercover Militants and carry out attacks like sleeper cells.
