Kathua, March 23 — A gunfight broke out between forces and suspected militants in the Sanyal area of Hiranagar in Kathua district of Jammu, sources said on Sunday.
Over four to five heavily armed militants are holed up in a forest area in Kathua, sources added.
The operation was launched based on specific inputs about the presence of militants in Sanyal.
As the forces intensified the search operation toward the suspected spot, the militants opened fire, triggering an encounter.
