‘Operating From LOC’: Rajouri Man’s Property Seized

Rajouri: The property of a Rajouri man, who according to the State Investigation Agency (SIA), had gone to Pakistan-controlled Kashmir for arms training along with other youths from Rajouri in 1992 and is presently operating from across the LOC, has been seized by authorities in the Pir Panchal region of Rajouri district on Friday. 

In a statement, SIA said: Under FIR No. 05/2021 u/s 13, 17, 18, 20, 38, 39 UA(P)A, section 3 of the Official Secrets Act, and Section 201 IPC of P/S, JIC/SIA Jammu, a case was registered against Abdul Hameed Khan, a resident of Panjgrain, along with other associates namely Mohd Rafiq Khan and Gurpal Singh.

‘He had gone to Pakistan for arms training along with other youths from Rajouri in 1992, and presently he is operating from Pakistan under the LeT outfit,’ reads the statement.

“He is also instrumental in a number of attacks in Rajouri and responsible for activating the sleeper cells and attracting gullible youths to join the LeT outfit through OGWs with the motive of waging war against India,” the statement reads.

It further states that in this case, charges were framed against all the accused persons including Abdul Hameed Khan.

It added that the SIA has attached immovable property amounting to lakhs of rupees in the village of Panjgrain. The property has been identified by local revenue staff and found recorded in the name of the said absconding militant. Now the land has been attached under section 33 of the UA(P) Act.
