Budgam: An accused drug peddler, identified as Ashfaq Rehman Khan from Sheikhpora has been arrested under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, as confirmed by a police official on Saturday.
The official revealed that Khan was involved in promoting and supplying drugs to local youth.
As per police, this marks the 14th arrest out of 77 cases registered by Budgam Police under the NDPS Act this year.
Additionally, 127 individuals have been taken into custody for their involvement in drug-related offences within the community.
