Srinagar: Police said that an OGW (Over Ground Worker) was arrested at a checkpoint laid by J&K Police, Pulwama along with Army (55RR) and (Central Reserve Police Force) CRPF (182/183 BN) near Bandzoo Crossing in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
He has been identified as Yawar Bashir Dar, son of Bashir Ahmad and a resident of Arigam, Pulwama. However, his age wasn’t mentioned in the Police statement.
"The militant associate was linked with proscribed militant outfit Al-Badr and a pistol was recovered from his possession," Police said in a statement.
"In this regard, a case vides FIR No. 358/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Pulwama and further investigation is in progress," the statement added.
