OGW Arrested In Baramulla: Police

Srinagar: Police on Monday said that an OGW (Over Ground Worker) was arrested in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday and one Canister IED, pistol was recovered from his possession.

In a statement, Police said that based on an intelligence input, an operation was carried out on Sunday i.e. 18.12.22 by joint parties of police and Indian Army (32 RR,) led to the arrest of an OGW.

He was identified as Mohd. Ishaq Lone, son of Bashir Ahmed Lone and a resident of Nadihal, Chakloo village in Baramulla. However, his age was not mentioned in the Police statement.

“On his disclosure, one Canister IED, 1 pistol, 1 pistol magazine, 18 rounds of pistol and 8 meters of Electric Wire,” reads the statement.

In this regard, a case FIR u/s of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Explosive Substances Act and Arms Act has been registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been taken up, it said.
