Srinagar: Residents of several areas in downtown Srinagar are facing water scarcity with officials saying that it was the Prang Ranguil water channel that got blocked due to a cloudburst in the Ganderbal district and led to the water crisis.
However, Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Sanjeev Kumar, assured that efforts are underway to restore the water supply, and the channel is expected to be functional by late tonight.
“Cloudburst in the Ganderbal district today has blocked the Prang Ranguil (water channel).”
“The men and machinery have been pressed into the service and the channel will be through by late night,” he added.
