Srinagar: On Saturday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at three separate locations in Kashmir, resulting in the detention of a Father-Son Duo in Kralpora village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Moreover, the raid also rang the residence of a doctor based in Doda, situated in Bhatindi, Jammu.
As per media reports, Mehraj-u-Din Sofi,19, a B Com student of Government Degree College Kupwara and his father Ghulam Mohammad Sofi were picked up by the NIA early morning on Saturday from Kralpora village of Kupwara.
In a statement, NIA said that the duo from Kupwara have been shifted to Srinagar for questioning.
NIA also carried out raids in Kulgam and Shopian. The case pertains to the criminal conspiracy for carrying out militant and subversive activities hatched by the cadres and Over Ground Workers (OWGs) of various proscribed organizations and their affiliates, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the NIA raided the residence of Dr Parvez Mir at Bhatindi on the outskirts of Jammu City.
This action was prompted by the agency’s pursuit of Dr Mir’s nephew, Mohammad Osama, who is alleged to have employed a specific application to dispatch particular emails that are currently under scrutiny as part of ongoing investigations, it added.
