Srinagar: The National Investigation agency on Monday attached (legal term for seizure) the properties of the two sons of Syed Salahuddin (Hizb Chief) in Central Kashmir in Srinagar and Budgam under UAPA.
The immovable properties of Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel, located in central Kashmir’s Rambagh in Srinagar and Soibugh in Budgam have been attached under section 33(1) of UA( P) Act, NIA said in a statement.
Both Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel are lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since their arrest in October 2017 and August 2018.

NIA produced a charge-sheet against the duo on 20th April, 2018 and 20th November, 2018, respectively.
As per NIA, the duo received funds from abroad from the associates of their father and by the over-ground workers of HM.
Syed Salahudeen, who fled to Pakistan in 1993 is listed on the Most Wanted List of National Investigation Agency.
He is named as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the US Department Of State.
He had contested the famous J&K assembly election in 1987 as a candidate of the Muslim United Front in Srinagar’s Amira Kadal constituency.
He joined Hizbul Mujahideen and took over as the chief of the militant group and then adopted nom de guerre "Syed Salahuddin", named after Saladin, the 12th century Muslim military leader-famous for compassion.
In June 2012 in an interview, he said that Pakistan had been backing Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in Kashmir and called Kashmir conflict "Pakistan’s war."
Attaching properties was started in March last year when Police initially started warning civilians against providing shelter to militants in the valley and later attached houses where encounters raged. Dozens of properties were attached under section 2(g) & 25 of ULP Act since then.
