Nephew Kills Uncle with VDC Weapon in Poonch

Poonch: A nephew killed his uncle in the Dara Dullian area of Jhulas in the Pir Panchal regionโ€™s Poonch district last night. The perpetrator, identified as Gagandeep Singh, son of Kulbir Singh is also a member of the Village Defence Committee (VDC) and utilized the VDC weapon to commit the crime.

The deceased has been identified as Joginder Singh, son of Jodh Singh.

According to reports, Gagandeep Singh intruded into his uncleโ€™s residence during the night and fired upon him from close range, resulting in the immediate demise of the victim.

Upon hearing the gunfire, other family members subdued the assailant and immediately notified the authorities.

The accused was subsequently taken into custody by the police, who have registered a murder case against him at the Poonch police station.

Police sources said that Gagandeep Singh was intoxicated at the time of the incident and had purportedly harbored intentions of causing harm to his uncle.

โ€œIt has been disclosed that prior familial disputes had been addressed in a Gram Panchayat meeting, yet the accused remained dissatisfied with the resolution,โ€ he said.

Police have arrested the accused under murder charges and a case in this regard has been registered in police station Poonch, he added.
