Srinagar: Rains drenched parts of the Kashmir Valley, while the higher reaches experienced a fresh layer of snowfall on Monday, according to the Meteorological office.
As per MeT, Zojila Pass, a strategic point on the Srinagar-Ladakh highway and upper reaches of Chenab region’s Doda-Kishtwar witnessed fresh snowfall while rains drenched south, north, and central parts of the Kashmir Valley.
However, the weather is expected to remain fairly to partly cloudy in both the Jammu and Kashmir regions from October 3 to 8, MeT forecasted.
“Furthermore, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain or snowfall at scattered locations, with a 60-70 percent chance during October 9-10. “
On the intervening nighyt of Sunday-Monday, Srinagar, the Kashmir capital recorded a low temperature of 11.4 degrees Celsius.
In South Kashmir; Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir valley logged 12.0 degrees Celsius and received 4.6mm of rainfall.
Top tourist destination of Pahalgam experienced a low of 8.6 degrees Celsius and received 9.1mm of rainfall.
North Kashmir’s Gulmarg recorded a low temperature of 7.0 degrees Celsius.
