Jammu: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Jammu to inaugurate developmental projects, he touted the progress made since the abrogation of Article 370, stating that ‘it had acted as a barrier between the country and the development of Jammu and Kashmir.’
Targeting Kashmiri unionists, he declared that the barrier had been permanently dismantled by the BJP government, which stood in contrast to the families that had governed Jammu and Kashmir for over 70 years.
The Prime Minister remarked, "They never thought about the people and the youth. They instead worked to keep their parties relevant to grab power again and again."
Beginning his speech with Dogri, he referenced a Bollywood film on Article 370, stating, "This movie will help raise awareness about certain important facts regarding Article 370."
Post-abrogation, the Modi government has attributed Kashmir militancy to Article 370, claiming that militancy, strikes, and separatism diminished due to the revocation of the special status. In an effort to clarify their stance, several movies, such as "The Kashmir Files," have been produced.
"J&K is no longer in the news for guns, bombs, and separatism. Education, connectivity, and development have replaced all of this," he said. "The youth of J&K no longer need to leave the region for professional courses as Kashmir and Jammu regions are emerging as educational hubs."
