Srinagar: A retired teacher, who was missing since yesterday from his home, was found dead on Friday in Feeripora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Gani Rather (66) resident of Pudsoo village in Shopian.
He was missing since Thursday.
An official said that today some locals spotted a body near Vaishav water body in Feeripora, following which a police party reached to the spot and took the body into their possession.
“The deceased was mentally unsound and was missing since yesterday,” he said.
“The body will be handed over to legal heirs after medico-legal formalities.”
Meanwhile, police have taken started further investigation.
