Militants Kill CRPF Trooper At Gangoo Crossing, Pulwama

Srinagar: An assistant sub-inspector of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) was killed after militants fired upon a joint check post of Police and CRPF on the circular road near Gongoo crossing in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday afternoon

The trooper identified as Vinod Kumar of 182 bn CRPF died 10 minutes at the hospital after the attack.

“Militants fired upon a joint (Naka) party of police and CRPF on circular road, resulting in injuries to ASI (assistant sub-inspector) of CRPF,” A top police officer said.

“The injured officer was immediately shifted to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries,” he said.

The area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, he added.
