Srinagar: An unidentified militant and an army trooper were killed during an infiltration bid which was foiled by the Indian Army in Tangdhar sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.
Official sources said that one unidentified militant was killed during an infiltration bid in the Tangdhar sector while a search for another militant is underway.
An Army trooper of 6-JAK Rifle, identified as Jasvir Singh received bullet injuries during the exchange of fire. He was shifted to the hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile from the possession of slain militant, one AK-47, 4 pistols, 3 AK-47 Magazines, 3 Pistol Magazines, 5 hand grenades and ammunition were recovered, officials said.
