MeT Predicts Mixed Weather Forecast For Kashmir Valley

Srinagar: The metrological department has forecasted fair to partly cloudy conditions on Thursday, saying that the weather will remain predominantly dry with warming temperatures on 20th and 21st October and the wet spell may adhere from 22nd onwards

However, it said there are no foreseen instances of any major rain or snowfall for the next 10 days in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The night temperature also recoded a drop across Kashmir valley, Zanskar and Chenab regions.

As per details, Kashmir capital, Srinagar recorded 4.7°C, below-normal by  -0.4°C.

In South Kashmir; top tourist destination of Pahalgam logged -0.6°C, below normal by -2.1°C and the gateway town of valley, Qazigund logged 7.4°C, below normal by 3.0°C.

The mercury settled at 6.3°C, below-normal by 0.4°C in Kokernag, 7.2°C in Pulwama, 2.8°C in Kulgam and -0.1°C in Shopian.  

In North Kashmir; world famous skiing resort, Gulmarg logged minus 1.3°C, below-normal by -4.2°C with Baramulla logging 4.1°C, Bandipora 2.5°C, and Kupwara 2.7°C.

In Central Kashmir; Ganderbal logged 0.4°C, details of Budgam district were unavailable.

Pir Panchal region’s Banihal recorded 6.5°C, and Ramban 9.8 degress Celsius. However, details from Poonch and Rajouri districts were unavailable.

In Chenab Valley, Bhaderwah logged 4.9 °C, below normal by -1.2 degrees Celsius and details from Kishtwar was unavailable.

In Zanskar region, Leh logged -2.0°C and Kargil logged -2.8°C.

In Pakistan-controlled-Kashmir, Muzafarabad logged 10°C, Mirpur 14°C, Skardu 4.3°C, Gilgit 8.2°C.
