Srinagar: The local Meteorological department (MeT) has predicted light snowfall in Kashmir tonight and another two-day wet spell from January 21.
Officials said a feeble Western Disturbance is affecting Jammu and Kashmir at present and subsequently, there is a possibility of light snowfall in plains of Kashmir and light to moderate snowfall over higher reaches of J&K and Ladakh during January 17 night and 18th.
“Another spell of light to moderate snow in J&K is likely during January 21-22. There is no forecast of any major rain/snow till ending January in both the Union Territories,” MeT officials said.
Meanwhile, as per the traffic advisory for tomorrow, the officials said that subject to fair weather and better road conditions LMVs (Passenger)/ private cars shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu (strictly one way) on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
It said that TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.
However, the officials said that some of the roads including Mughal Road, Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri Road, and Kishtwar-Sinthan Road shall continue to remain closed for vehicular movement given snow accumulated.
