Handwara: A man allegedly killed his wife in Cheki Audoora village of Mawer area in north Kashmir’s Handwara district on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, according to reports.
The assailant has been identified as Mohammad Maqbool Mir, son of Ali Mohammad Mir.
According to officials, he used a sharp object to attack his wife, resulting in the victim (name withheld), daughter of Mohammad Mukhtar Sheikh of Lawoosa, dying on the spot.
According to reports, the deceased aged 40 and a mother of four, was allegedly attacked by her husband with an axe, resulting in a grievous injury to her throat.
