Anantnag, Sep 3: A man was injured after being attacked by a bear in an orchard in Mirmadan area of Dooru in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday, officials said.
The injured man was identified as Mohd Maqbool Bhat, a resident of Mirmadan, Dooru.
An official said Bhat was in the orchard when the bear attacked him, leaving him injured.
He was initially shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Dooru for treatment. Doctors later referred him to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for further medical care.
Authorities have initiated a probe into the incident.
