Srinagar: Body of a 40-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in an orchard at Arath area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Gani Mir-resident of Wadwan, Budgam.
A police spokesperson said that the body was spotted by locals who also informed police.
Accordingly, he said, a police team headed by SHO (Station Housing Officer) police station Budgam and Chowki officer of Soibug along with FSL team immediately reached the spot.
“The place of occurrence was examined and body was taken into custody for post mortem and other legal formalities,” he said, adding, “Proceedings under section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Police.”
