Srinagar, Apr 11 — A man was found dead under unexplained circumstances in an orchard in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday morning, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Humhama.
“Early morning, we received information about a body lying in an orchard at Sir Syed Abad, Sheikhpora. A police team immediately reached the spot and took the body into custody,” an official said.
Authorities said the body has been shifted for medico-legal procedures to determine the cause of death.
Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings. “Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the death,” the official added.
