Baramulla: A 45-years-old man drowned in the river Jhelum at Seer-Jagir area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday late evening.
An official has identified the man as Rafiq Ahmed Mir, resident of Drangbal village in Baramulla and said he had slipped and drowned in the river while washing his vehicle.
“A team of police reached to the spot and launched a rescue operation,” he said.
The rescue operation was underway when this report was filed.
