Kulgam: A wanted and notorious drug smuggler has been booked under PIT NDPS Act in south Kashmir’s Kulgam after obtaining formal detention orders from competent authority, Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Monday.
Police identified the accused as Abdul Rashid Rather, also known as Mathur. son of Ghulam Hassan Rather and a resident of Bonigam area of Qazigund.
He has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act, arrested and lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu, police said.
“There were many cases registered against him and he was involved in drug trade by supplying drugs to local youth and other areas of the district.”
