Srinagar: The body of a male who jumped into the Jhelum River near Srinagar’s Rajbagh on Monday evening has been retrieved and identified as Momin Bhat (19), the son of Gulam Ahmad Bhat and a resident of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official stated that his body was retrieved from the Jhelum this afternoon.
He said that he jumped in Jhelum last evening, following which a search operation was launched, however, it was later called off due darkness.
“Body was shifted to a nearby hospital and will be handed over to family after legal formalities,” the official said.
