Srinagar: A woman was rescued by locals after she allegedly jumped into Jhelum river at new Zainakadal Bridge in downtown area of Srinagar on Saturday.
As per reports, an elderly woman, name (withheld), resident of Kailashpora allegedly tried to end her life by jumping into river Jhelum at New Zainakadal Bridge.
However, locals immediately rushed towards her and she was rescued.
She has been shifted to SMHS (Shri Maharaja Hari Singh) hospital for treatment.
Police said that cognizance of the incident has been taken.
