Srinagar: A Local militant affiliated with Lashkar-i-Toiba oufit was killed in an overnight encounter (military operation) in Binner area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
The slain has been identified as Irshad Ahmd Bhat, resident of Pattan Baramulla, who was active since May this year.
As per police records, he was linked with LeT.

A senior police officer said that a local militant was killed after forces had laid siege around Binner area during late evening hours on Saturday.
The officer further said that as the joint team of Police and army moved towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants started firing on the forces, which was retaliated triggering off an encounter.
Pertinently a Jaish militant was also killed on Saturday in a separate gunfight in Wanigam area of Baramulla.
