Shopian: An local militant affiliated with LeT was arrested on Sunday at a checkpoint in the Imamsahib area of the Shopian district, police said here.
He has been identified as Aadil Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Gani Dar and a resident of the Trenz area in Imamshab. However, his age was not mentioned.
An official said that he was arrested during a Naka (checkpoint) near Mohanpora Trenz.
He said that arms and ammunition were also recovered from his possession.
"Active terrorist Adil Gani Dar, S/o Abdul Gani Dar, R/o Trenz affiliated with Proscribed Terrorist Organisation LeT arrested at village Mohandpora Shopian. Arms and ammunition recovered,” Shopian Police tweeted.
