Ganderbal, April 10 — Ganderbal Police on Thursday attached property valued at Rs 3.47 crore under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), related to a 2009 case.
The attached property includes nine kanals and seven marlas of land belonging to three people who, according to police, crossed over to Pakistan for weapons training.
"The seizure was carried out following directions from the court of Additional Sessions Judge Ganderbal in connection with FIR No. 48/2009 registered at Police Station Kheerbawani under Section 13 of the UAPA," a police spokesperson said in a statement issued to the press.
The land is registered in the names of Firdous Ahmad Wani, son of the late Gh Ahmad Wani of Treesa Safapora; Mohd Ramzan Bhat, son of the late Gh Rasool Bhat of Batpora Safapora; and Mohd Ayoub Ganie, son of the late Gh Rasool Ganie of Pahlipora Safapora.
“This showcases the unhindered efforts of Ganderbal Police against elements involved in activities detrimental to public safety and national security,” the spokesperson said. “The action sends a strong message about the zero-tolerance approach of Ganderbal Police and acts as a deterrent.”
