Srinagar: One militant of HM (Hizbul Mujahideen) have been killed in an overnight encounter (military operation) in the Khandipora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam District, police said on Saturday morning.
However, identity of the slain is yet to be ascertained and the operation is underway.

Earlier on Friday night, a joint team of Police, Army, and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
"The team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter."
"Two to three militants were believed to be trapped in the area," as per News Agency KNO."
