Jammu, September 22: Police have arrested a 24-year-old truck driver from Kathua for allegedly running a live surveillance feed and sharing sensitive security-related information with Pakistani intelligence handlers, officials said.
According to investigators, the accused allegedly installed a CCTV camera outside his house in a border area to monitor the movement of security forces’ convoys and provide the information to his handlers across the border.
The accused was allegedly receiving payments in return for sharing logistical and security-related movements, investigators said.
Police have registered a case under the Official Secrets Act, and further questioning of the accused is underway.
The arrest follows an investigation into the alleged surveillance network and the sharing of sensitive information with handlers across the border.
